Emma Walton, a stage manager, singer, and arts administrator, originally from Cumbria and now based in Glasgow, has been immersed in opera since 2008.
She holds a music degree from the University of Huddersfield and master's degrees in opera performance from the Royal Northern College of Music and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Emma's singing career includes standout roles such as Julia Grant in Philip Glass' "Appomattox" and The Man in Joshua Goodman's "The Man and Men," both premieres in the UK and at the Edinburgh Festival.
In stage management, Emma has worked on large scale productions such as Wagner's "Der Ring des Nibelungen" with Opera North and Handel's "Agrippina" at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Her recent work includes the production of Verdi's "Macbeth" with Paisley Opera, showcasing her multifaceted backstage skills.
Currently, Emma is training with BYO's Serena Fenwick Stage Management programme, gearing up for the upcoming production of "Rape of Lucretia." She brings a mix of experience, organisational finesse, and a love for opera to every project she undertakes.
